Reese & K-Mac created Salute To Champions in 2018 to recognize influential African-Americans in the local area during Black History Month. Throughout the month of February, Reese & K-Mac highlight each recipient on their social media channels and interview each recipient on their show, The Sports Shop. Additionally, Capitol Broadcasting Company highlights details of the recipients as well as the recognition luncheon that takes place at the end of the month at the PNC Arena.
The Sports Shop Radio will recognize and highlight African-Americans who have achieved in their respective fields and/or paved the way for others during our Salute To Champions Program during the month of February. The individual areas that will be recognized are in the areas of Education/Business, Politics/Community & Sports/Entertainment. Individuals recognized should have some association with the state of North Carolina.
